Prep before your appointment
- Come in with clean, fully dry hair, product buildup can slow down the process and affect how well the new bonds or tracks sit
- Skip the heavy oils or leave-ins the day before your appointment, a light conditioner on the ends is fine
- If anything has felt off since your last visit, loose bonds, slipping wefts, unusual shedding, write it down or just be ready to mention it so we can take a look before we get started
- Pull up any reference photos if your texture or part has shifted since your last move-up, it helps us adjust
Aftercare
- Give bonds or seams a full 24 to 48 hours before getting them wet, especially in humidity, which can work against a fresh install faster than you might expect
- Brush from the ends up toward the root, never root-to-tip, and do this before bed and before washing to keep matting from forming at the attachment points
- A lightweight, sulfate-free shampoo applied at the root and rinsed straight down is still your best friend between move-ups
- If you notice significant slipping or a bond that feels loose before your next scheduled visit, come in rather than waiting, catching it early is easier on your hair and your budget
